Chris WyerChris Wyer

FCCA
Finance Director

Chris has been employed in a senior financial capacity for over 20 years, in organisations covering Manufacturing, Retail and Construction sectors in the UK, Europe, America and Australia. Chris joined Orwell at the beginning of 2007.

‘Having worked in other sectors and industries previously, I particularly enjoy working at Orwell because the end result has a direct and positive impact on the quality of people’s lives. It is also a great place to work with a “no blame” culture, where mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn and develop, and where colleagues are supportive, encouraging and make a difference on a daily basis’

Wendy Evans-HendrickWendy Evans-Hendrick

BA (Hons), DMS, DipDM
Director of Development & Property Services

Wendy trained as a planner, moving into housing association development in 1991 and has been leading the development department for the Association since 1994. The property services division was added to her remit on 1 January 2001.

‘Throughout my time at Orwell I have seen the homes and services we provide grow and develop with a focus on delivering quality in all that we do. This commitment to quality really inspires the Development and Property Services staff to build and renovate homes that people aspire to live in and that will become places known in the future for their quality and innovation.’

Paul KingstonPaul Kingston

MBA, MCIH, DMS, MIMgt
Director of Housing & Care Services

Paul has been working in housing for 23 years. He has been an active member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Eastern Branch for 20 years and is the Branch representative on the national Council. Paul has also been pro-active in taking the lead on a number of multi-agency projects.

‘Orwell was once described by one of its competitors as being a “medium sized association with big ideas”. Having worked for Orwell in excess of 15 years I am proud to have observed the Association grow significantly in terms of the numbers of staff employed, turnover and number of properties in management and, in particular, becoming the largest support and care provider in Suffolk other than the County Council.

Orwell is a force to be reckoned with. It has a strong brand, a committed work force and a reputation for innovating projects that others would regard as too difficult. Having been in the housing business for more than 20 years, most of which have been spent at Orwell, I am in awe of the staff, the Board and all that has been achieved.’
